OneUp Components Hubs

OneUp hubs are lightweight, reliable, and affordable mountain bike hubs designed for both XC racing and enduro riding. Released by OneUp Components in 2024, they feature a durable 44T ratchet system and are available in seven colors.

Key features

Ratchet system: The hubs use a 44-tooth ratchet ring, which provides an 8.2-degree engagement angle. OneUp prioritizes this balance for reliability and durability over higher-engagement options. The ratchet mechanism is an in-house design, not a rebranded DT Swiss version.

Construction: The hub shells are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, a material known for its high strength-to-weight ratio. The drive ring is machined directly into the hub shell, which eliminates a potential failure point and saves weight.

Weight: At just 362 grams per hubset (142g front, 220g rear with XD freehub), they are lighter than many competitors but still durable enough for heavy trail riding.

Bearings and sealing: The hubs use premium Enduro ABEC 5 cartridge bearings, which are a common size for easy replacement. They are well-sealed for wet-weather riding, with double-sealed end caps and waterproof grease.

Serviceability: OneUp designed the hubs to be simple to service at home with minimal tools. Freehubs can be swapped without special equipment.

Freehub and spacing options: Rear hubs are sold separately from the freehub to simplify inventory for shops. Options include HG, XD, and Micro Spline. The hubs are currently only available in Boost 15x110mm (front) and 12x148mm (rear) spacing.

Wheel building: The hubs use standard J-bend spokes, and the necessary wheel-building specifications are laser-etched directly onto the hub body.

Compatibility: OneUp hubs are certified for use on all types of bikes, including e-bikes.
